New Arrival: Mark Reynolds

 

While I am excited about all the Indians signings this offseason, none of these guys have any certified autographs that are worth writing home about.  This is from 2010 Topps Triple Threads…and when it comes to Mark Reynolds on card autographs, it might be as good as it gets.  Still, this is better than anything Nick Swisher has out there.  I am not looking forward to a season of trying to add Swishers autograph to my collection…people are going to charge out the ass for him.

Reynolds should be fun to have in the line-up.  It has been a while since we had someone who could hit with Power like him.  Ironically, Baseballreference listed ex-Indian Russell Branyan as the most similar batter by age…and Branyan might be the last really good, consistent power threat we had.  I would say Harnfer was…but he spends more time on the DL than in the line-up..so I am not counting him.

My biggest concern are all those bold numbers below:  strikeouts.  I am totally cool with a guy striking out a ton if he walks and hits with Power…but man, Reynolds strikes out a lot.  League leading a lot.  I am sure it will be fine, especially if he ends the season with 35 or 40 HR.
