Clint Frazier was the Indians #1 pick of the 2013 Draft, 5th overall. This was a nice pick by the Indians, who decided to go with the relatively risky, super high upside type instead of the solid, older college player they seem to normally go after.
Frazier was a consensus Top-5 pick. His game is power–and tons of it. He has good bat speed and power, though it is tempered by his aggressiveness and hitting approach. He is fast too, and coupled with his athleticism he should have no problem in the outfield.
His tendency to strike out because of his aggressive hitting is showing in Arizona. He is hitting well enough–.289 AVG, .343 OBP and .827 OPS with 3 HR–but the K’s are bad (45 in 128 at bats; 10 walks).
He is only 18, and his ceiling is sky high, so he has plenty of time to work on the K’s.
Totally figures that he does not sign sweet spot cards, though. I had three people try to get him in Arizona and he has declined every time.
Luckily, some people were selling some on Ebay so I hopped on them.
