Niko Goodrum was drafted in the 2nd Round of the 2010 draft by the Twins. As a 21 year old in 2013, he was assigned to play in Low-A Cedar Rapids; this was after two season in Rookie League ball. He more than held his own: he carried a .364 OBP, .260 AVG withh a .733 OPS. He hit 4 HR, walked 60 times in 105 K’s and had 22 doubles in 385 at-bats.
You can see some issues. He strikes out way too much, especially considering he is not a power hitter. But he has a lot of projection, and if he cuts down on the K’s and hits with just a little more power, he may be more than the Major League utility player that some have now pegged him for. I think he has it in him.
