Jason Grilli is one of my favorite relief pitchers in the game, and it has been really cool seeing him have so much success over the past couple seasons pitching out of the Pirates pen. In his three years with Pittsburgh he has a 1.125 WHIP and 135 ERA+. Last season, his first as a closer, he saved 33 games and was selected his his first All-Star game. Not only that, but he played a major role in why the team had one of the strongest pens in the league and were able to make the playoffs for the first time since 1992. I am really looking forward to the Pirates in 2014, and I think that he could really turn into one of the dominant closers in the game.
I actually met him a couple seasons ago while the Pirates were rolling through Cleveland. He was a really nice guy, and was one of the only players that came over and signed for me. I was a fan before that, but have been more so since.
