Jordan Brown was a 4th Round pick of the Cleveland Indians in 2005 out of Arizona. Coming out of college there were some Wally Joyner comps. He was a lefty who hit with power and played good defense at first.
He rated the Indians #24 prospect in 2006, #7 in 2007, #25 in 2008 and #14 in 2009.
He was the Carolina League MVP and All-Star in 2006. In 2007 was again an All-Star in the Eastern League, also winning Rookie of the Year and MVP honors there. In 2009 he took home International League All-Star honors. The bottom line was the dude could hit. Well.
But it has yet to really turn into Major League success. He power never really developed, and while he still has pop is nothing too terrible impressive. His defense also did not really come along.
He has gotten the call twice, once with Cleveland in 2010 and again with the Marlins in 2013. He looks like he will continue to be a AAA body. Still, he has had a really nice career, with two minor league MVP awards and time in the Majors…that is something to be proud of.
