New Arrival: Chase Davis, of, Alabama-Birmingham Baseball

Chase Davis was one of the Top 100 high school players in Alabama, and despite some interest from major league teams, was not drafted due to his asking price.

This season he is hitting .327 with a .426 OBP.  I guess he can also pitch, but has yet to appear in a game.  Probably for the best, since he looks like a hitter who, I like to think, will be getting a long look from Major League teams when his draft rolls around.

I saw him play on friday, and he went 3-5 with 2 RBI.  I also got to talk with his dad, who was a pretty cool dude.  I guess he was a coach at one point, and Austin Adams was one of his players (Adams was added to the Indians 40 man not long ago).
