Richard Prigatano is having a great season at Long Beach State, leading the teams offensive attack with a .428 OBP and .308 AVG. The game that I was at last night illustrated how much other teams worry about him, since he was the first intentional walk I have every seen at a Hawaii game. He is a big dude too, so its easy to see why “Baseball America” rated him one of the Big West Top 10 prospects for the 2014 Draft. Prigatano was actually drafted once before: in 2011 he was taken in the 16th round by the Toronto Blue Jays out of St. Francis High School. He declined and came to Long Beach State. Its looks like a great decision, since now he should go much, much earlier.
