New Arrival: Chad Wallach, c, Greensboro Grasshoppers (Marlins)

Chad Wallach is one of my favorite players in the minors this season, so I was really happy to get this autograph.

Wallach was drafted in the 5th Round of the 2013 draft by the Marlins out of Cal State Fullerton–one of the few college teams that I actually root for. He did not put up eye popping numbers in Short Season ball last year, but that is likly due to the transition between college and pro ball. This season he is wrecking Low-A, carrying a .433 OBP and .899 OPS. My favorite stat of his is that he has more walks (27) than K (25). This, while playing the toughest position on the field. I don’t think with the way he is hitting they can keep him in Greensboro that much longer.
