Tyler Holt on scorecard, acquired in Akron 2014

Tyler Holt, a former 10th Round pick out of Florida State University, was called up to the Indians this morning with Michael Bourn again going on the DL.  I am watching the game right now, and in the top of the 9th he was put into the game in the outfield.

He deserved it. Holt started the season in Akron, performed well, was bumped up to AAA and kept right on hitting.

I saw him play in a half dozen games in Akron. He was easily the most intense player I have seen in person. The dude has one speed, and it is fast. He was always a danger at the plate, and aggressive on base too. The games I went to were all close, with Akron always getting beat by a hair. You could see that Holt was giving it all, and after the game just sat on the bench, looking exhausted. You got the vibe the dude plays hard, and does not like to lose. The kind of player you like having on your team, especially in the utility position.

He was kind of a tough autograph to get…it took me four games…but I was finally able to snag him post game.
