New Arrival: Casey Turgeon, 2b, St. Louis Cardinals

Casey Turgeon was drafted by the Cardinals out of the University of Florida.  He was picked up in the 24th Round, signed, and was assigned to Johnson City.

He is, by every measure, having a very successful pro debut.  His strike zone discipline is fantastic (carrying more walks than K), he is getting on base and hitting with power.  Added bonus is that he plays a premium defensive position.  There is not much here no to like.

I am thinking that he will get pushed hard, considering how well he is hitting.  I would not be surprised to see him get bumped to State College or Peoria before too long.
