I was able to get this autograph in 2009, while Green was playing at USC. He would be drafted by the Athletics in the 1st Round of the 2009 draft.
From 2009 to 2012 Green would rated one of Oakland’s Top 10 prospects, maxing out as the teams #1 in 2010. He has always been a great hitter, but finding a defensive home has been a little tougher. In 2013 the A’s traded him to the Angels for Alberto Callaspo. Green spent 2013 bouncing between AAA and the majors, putting up respectable numbers in both places. In 2014 he spent a good portion of the season injured.
I am hoping that he is healthy in 2015 and can get some more bats in the majors. He will still only be 27 and still a great natural hitter–and has more than enough time to carve out a nice career in the majors.
