Eudor Garcia is one of my favorite third base prospects in the game, so this was a very nice surprise.
In 2014 at El Paso Community College, Garcia mashed: .460 HR with 14 home runs during his sophomore season. Now sure, El Paso plays in the National Junior College Athletic Association, so the numbers are against lighter competition, but they still caught attention of pro scouts. And those pro scouts saw a player whose bat could very well play at the highest level of baseball. So the Mets drafted him in 2014, 4th Round.
Where Garcia will ultimately play is yet to be seen. He mans third well enough, but he projects for more of a corner outfield or first base as he gets a little older.
I am very excited to follow his career.
