Bruce was rated one of the Reds top three prospects from 2005-2007, and was rated the #1 prospect in all of Baseball after the 2007 season. His career in the majors has been a mix of bag. He has shown all the power he was expected to have, and has been selected to two All-Star games and awarded two Silver Sluggers. But man he strikes out. Enough that it holds down his overall numbers. In 2014 he still hit 18 HR, but had a BB/K of 44/149 with a .217/.281/.373 slash. He was a little better in 2015, hitting 26 HR with a .226/.294/.434 with a .729 OPS. He still struck out 145 times in 580 at bats. He is still a good player, and only 29, but it would be nice to see him cut down the K’s a little.
Chris Sale is one of the best young pitchers in the game. He has been an All-Star for the past four seasons, averaging 13 wins with a 1.068 WHIP and 137 ERA+. Its a shame that the White Sox are not a better team.
Jason Giambi. 20 year major league player, with 440 career HR, five All-Star selections, two Silver Slugger awards and was the 2000 AL MVP. It was fun having him on the Tribe for his last two seasons, and I am hoping that he joins the organization as a coach in the coming years.
