Allen was drafted in the 6th round (2014) out of San Diego State.

He was a great college hitter, with a NCAA career .389 OBP. Not a lot of pop, but he made up for it by being fast. He is also a plus defender in center…so he is pretty much everything you could want in a leadoff hitter. He was projected to go anywhere from the 3rd to 10th rounds…and would go in the 6th to the Tribe.

As a pro he has looked as advertised…if not better. He is getting on base at a great clip, stealing a ton (46 in 2015), and is even showing some pop.
