From the Field: Nelson Cruz, of, Seattle Mariners

I trust Billy Bean as much as the next guy, but I will never understand trading Nelson Cruz and Justin Lehr for infielder Keith Ginter.  Ginter was not that great in 2004 with the Brewers (.262/.333/.479), and in 2005 would have a terrible 32 OPS+ in 137 at-bats. He would never play in the majors again.

I am sure that there is a good reason the move was made…its just depressing in hindsight.

Cruz has had a great career, with four All-Star selections, a Silver Slugger and 267 career home runs.
