Sides was drafted in the 12th round of the 2011 draft out of Samford University. I have been a fan of his since 2012 when he was with Lake County (34 IP, 19 hits and 37 K). This season in Akron he has pitched 51.1 innings, allowing 35 hits and striking out 52 with a 3.16 ERA/1.13 WHIP.

He was selected to the Eastern League All-Star team, his first All-Star selection.
