From the Filed: Dustin Peterson, of, Atlanta Braves

Drafted in the 2nd round (50th overall) out of Gilbert High School (AZ) by the San Diego Padres in 2013.

Was a very well thought of prospect, who was projected to hit for both average and power. He was the Padres #22 prospect in 2014, and #21 prospect in 2015.

In late 2014 he was traded to the Braves as part of a deal for the Padres to net Justin Upton.

He had, by his standards, and off year in 2015 while at High-A (.251/.317/.348). But the Braves decided to keep him moving up the ladder, and he opened 2016 in AA. He had a very nice season, going .283/.343/.431 with 12 HR. He still probably needs to cut down on the K’s, but that can be corrected.  And he got some hardware for his great season too, which is nice:

I like to think that he is back on the prospect map, and if he continues to hit like this in AAA, he should get a chance to crack the 25 man roster at some point in 2017.
