Nolasco was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 4th round of the 2001 amateur draft out of Rialto HS (Rialto, CA).

In late 2005 he was traded to the Marlins, and he would make it to the majors just a season later.

From 2008 to 2013 he was a very dependable starter. He averaged 13 wins a season, 192 IP, 161 K’s and a 1.266 WHIP–good for a ERA+ of 95.  He was not an ace, but a very nice #3 or #4 starter.

In mid-2013 he was traded to the Dodgers, and in 2014 would sign a four-year, $49 million contract with the Twins.  It did not work out. He struggled with injuries…and when he wasn’t hurt…he was ineffective.

In August of this season he was traded by the Twins to the Angels. He was not terrible for LAA (4-6, 3.21 ERA over 73 IP).

I am not sure what 2017 will bring. The Angels have horrible pitching, so he should be in the rotation until cant pitch anymore. He has really struggled the past couple seasons, but if he is healthy he should have a couple good seasons left in him.
