From the Field: Louis Head, p, Cleveland Indians

Louis Head was selected by Indians in 18th round of 2012 draft out of Texas State.

He has had a lot of good seasons in the Indians organization, with 2016 being among the best. He is a pen arm, and went 2-1 with a 1.09 WHIP over 67.2 innings. He struck out 61 and only walked 18, and went 6 for 7 in save chances. He was selected to his second all-star team as well–his first being back in 2013 while playing in Lake County.

This is actually his third season playing in AA Akron. He had a rough 2015 (4.03 ERA/1.442 WHIP over 60 innings), but he bounced back nicely in 2016.  I think some organizations might have challenged him at AAA in 2016, but lucky for the Indians they have a lot of depth up there. I cant think he will be back to Akron, and deserves a shot at Columbus.
