Jared Miller was drafted in the 11th round, 2014 draft, out of Vanderbilt.
Miller has settled into a pen role, but he has the tools to be more than a situational pitcher. For one, he is a 6’7″ lefty with a high-90’s fastball–and that is enough to get you some job security it baseball.
But Miller also has some nice numbers to back it up: in 2016 he pitched 61.1 innings between four levels of ball (A to AAA). He allowed only 36 hits, stuck out 80, and ended the season with a 0.962 WHIP. He was invited to the Arizona Fall League, and pitched excellent there are well. That is where I was able to get this autograph
Coming into 2017 he is one of the D-Backs top pitching prospects and should see some time with the big league club in 2017.
