Mike Nikorak was the Rockies #1 pick in the 2015 draft.
He was not an easy sign, since he was supposed to play at Alabama. But they managed it, and he has spent the past two season in the Rookie level Pioneer League.
Nikorak, 19, has an impressive high-90s fastball and a curve that could eventually grow into an excellent secondary pitch.
He has had a bit of a rough go at it in his first two pro seasons, and was sent to instructional league over the fall to help work on his game.
He is young and still has plenty of time to put things together. I assume he will open his 2017 season yet again at Grand Junction, and hopefully we get the bump to full season ball at some point soon after.
