This card looks better then the scan shows…my scanner…has a way of scanning through the autograph to make it less bold then it really is. I guess this is a common problem.
- Chris Gittens was drafted by the Yankees in the 12th round of the 2014 draft, out of Grayson County (Texas) CC. He has plus/plus raw power, though was limited defensively to only playing first. But his bat was more than strong enough to make that work.
- He would spend 2014 and the beginning of 2015 in rookie ball. In late 2015 he got the bump to High-A, though only got 2 hits in 14 at bats.
- In 2016 he got his first full season in affiliate ball, and was pretty good: .253/.359/.478 with 21 HR.
- At this point I dont think he is ranking on anyones Top 30 lists, but I think that he is hits this well in High-A, he will start to climb fast. Raw power is not rare, but being able to convert that raw power in 20 game time HR is not easy to find.
