Jace Peterson was a supplemental first round pick by the Padres in 2011 out of McNeese State.

From 2011 to 2014 he was rated one of the Padres Top 17 prospects, being rated as high as #7 in 2013. He never has any real standout tools, but profiled as a solid starting second baseman in the majors.

In 2014 he was part of a trade with the Braves, where the Padres moved Peterson, LHP Max Fried, 3B Dustin Peterson, OF Mallex Smith and a 2014-15 international bonus slot for OF Justin Upton and RHP Aaron Northcraft.

In 2015 Peterson was the Braves starting second basemen, hitting .239/.314/.335.
